Can Your Cell Phone Make You Sick?

AT&T officials offer tips to keep your cells germ-free this winter.

The following text was submitted by AT&T:

Cell phone users can follow a few simple rules to avoid getting sick from their cell phones – some of these will sound familiar:

  1. Keep your germs to yourself.  Don’t share your cell phone unless it’s an emergency. This rule is especially important for teens who tend to pass phones around or parents who let their toddlers play with their phones.
  2. Wash your hands frequently. Sing a verse from a familiar song (e.g., “Happy Birthday”) while lathering and rinsing. Don’t rush.
  3. Follow your phone manufacturer’s instructions and clean your cell frequently.
  4. Try using a hands-free headset, minimizing your keypad-to-face exposure
  5. Don’t – please don’t – use your phone in a restroom.  Some things can wait!

Be happy, a lot of males in public bathrooms, actually wash their hands. Lots, do not. I do.

Good to know Steven. I will admit, many men like my X seem to feel so self-important that they have a burning need to answer the phone. When I am in the bathroom, I revel in having "quiet time" and choose not to carry. I break out into my aspiring comedian rountine when some idiot is obvious about doing this...or in the elevator.

Steve, that's why I rarely shake a man's hand....or I make sure the hand sanitize is in sight. EEEEKK!
