Five Things: Feb. 11, Swap, Poe, Valentine, Snow

It's Feb. 11 and here are five things worth knowing today.

Swap: Got some baby clothes, toddler clothes and other baby gear? Have another baby that needs new stuff? Consider stopping by the Hall Library's baby/toddler clothes swap today at 1 p.m. Bring what you can and take what you want. Expectant families are also welcome. Make sure any clothes you bring are clean and sorted by size. For more information, email parentingforfree@riseup.net.

Poe: Edgar Allan Poe once wrote that the death of a beautiful woman is the most poetical topic in the world. See if he was right as Poe himself returns to life to read from the works that best display that thin line between love and death - including Annabel Lee and The Raven. Recommended for ages 13 and up. Tonight at Artists' Exchange.

Valentine: Stop by the Hall Library today after 11 a.m. and make a Valentine! It's free for all ages and no registration is required. Just stop on in and get to work making something special for your love.

Snow: The snow is falling but it might seem a little lackluster. The storm is tracking further south than aniticpated. That means less accumulation. We should get about an inch or so by the end of things. The high temperature will be 36 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Emma: For giving lectures on birth control, Emma Goldman, a political activist and founder of the journal Mother Earth, is imprisoned on this day in 1916.
