Five Things: Feb. 20, President, BINGO, Blog, Met

It's Feb. 20 and here are five things worth knowing today.

President: It's President's Day. City Hall is closed. So are all branches of the Cranston Public Library.

Bingo: Enjoy the  weekly BINGO night at the Riviera Hall, 1612 Elmwood Ave. It supports Johnston Youth Sports. Starts at 6:15. Doors open at 4. A $13 package gives all entrants a chance at a $1,000 guaranteed prize pool each week. Special $500 prize pools are also available. Call Georgette at 401-231-4316 for more information.

Partly: It will be partly sunny today with a high near 43 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. It will be seasonably cold tonight with a low of 23.

Blog: Patch has a blogging platform that is open to the public. Are you interested in blogging here on Cranston Patch? You can write about anything you want and you get instant access to a large, built-in audience. Give it a shot. E-mail editor Mark Schieldrop for more details.

Met: The Metropolitan Museum of Art opens in New York City on this day in 1872.
