Murder Victim ID'd; Police Say Crime was Gang Related

Cranston Police identified the man who was found dead and on fire near the entrance of Pocasset Cemetery on Wednesday.

The man found dead and ablaze near the entrance of Pocasset Cemetery Wednesday night has been identified by police and his death was gang related, police said.

Police identified the victim as Gandy S. Kaydea, also known as "Shad," with a last known address of 59 Progress Ave., Providence.

He was 22.

Kaydea was found dead by firefighters who responded to the scene around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday night after a report of a brush fire.

Police are still waiting for a cause of death from the Medical Examiner's office, who are performing an autopsy.
