Recent arrests and incidents reported by Cranston Police.

UNATTENDED CHILD
Cranston Police summonsed Crystal G. Klekot, 36, of 26 Atlantic Ave., Warwick, after she allegedly left her 2-year-old unattended in her unlocked car parked in the fire lane at the Garfield Avenue K-Mart on Dec. 14.

According to police, an officer on a safety detail saw the car parked in the fire lane. When he looked inside, the officer saw a young child strapped in the car seat. A female K-Mart employee standing nearby told the officer that a woman left the car there and told her that she would be running into the store “for only a few minutes.” But when asked if she was aware there was a young child in the vehicle, she “appeared surprised and stated ‘no,’” police said.

At that point Klekot exited the store and said she was in the store for only a few minutes. She also said she didn’t know who the employee is personally.
