Police said Nuccio initially told them his name was Jonathan Freeman and claimed he was staying with his aunt on Vermont Street. Jerry Gomez’s loud muffler on his 1987 Mazda kept him on the radar of one Cranston Police officer on Aug. 6.

Police said Gomez was charged with driving with a suspended license after an officer on routine patrol saw him drive by.

Police said Gomez was known to have a suspended license by the officer due to previous traffic stops.

Police said they saw two silver, “deep, loud muffler exhausts” about six-inches in diameter attached to his car.

Along with the charge of driving with a suspended license, police cited him for a muffler violation. He will appear in court on Aug. 21 for the license issue and Aug. 28 for the muffler charge. He was released at the scene.
