Police: Evictee Smears Feces to Spite Ex-Landlord

Cranston Police charged 42-year-old Cranston woman with vandalism for allegedly smearing dog feces on the doorknob and windows of her ex-landlord's property.

A 42-year-old Cranston woman was charged with vandalism after police said she smeared dog feces all over the windows and front doorknob of her former landlord's property.

According to a police report, Pamela Ann Sivo, formerly of 1348 Plainfield St., was disgruntled because she had recently been evicted from the property.

Police said the whole thing was witnessed by another tenant and former neighbor, who told the landlord what she saw. He contacted police, who arrived at the scene moments after Sivo reportedly fled, last seen walking down Plainfield Street.

Police said they saw the feces smeared all over the windows and front doorknob, consistent with the witnesses' account. The witness and landlord identified the suspect as Sivo.

Officer Luis S. Menendez reported that he was familiar with Sivo from "prior incidents" and suspected she may have gone to hide at a Plainfield Street address he was familiar with.

A short time later, Menednez's hunch proved fruitful — Sivo was at the address and she was taken into custody without incident.

Sivo was arraigned before a justice of the peace on Aug. 12 and was released on $5,000 personal recognizance. She was ordered held without bail as a probation violator.
