Police Hope to ID K-Mart Shoplifters

The three women pictured here allegedly stole numerous beauty supplies from the Garfield Avenue K-Mart.

Cranston Police are asking for the public to help them identify these three women who allegedly stole beauty and cleaning products from the Garfield Avenue K-Mart recently.

Police said the females selected numerous items from the store shelves and concealed them in their handbags. They then fled the store.

The suspects were stopped by store security and they dropped their handbags before fleeing. Police aren't sure if a vehicle was involved.

This plaza should have a police detail when operating at the expense of the store owners. As a Cranstonian I do not patronize this plaza , it is NOT a safe place to shop...plain n simple...

Funny thing is, the beauty products are right next to the Loss Prevention office.

@PC401 ...here's another funny thing...you have to wait until they actually leave the store to consider it theft....so you have to approach the thieves where ever they exit the store.

@ htc, It has always been that way, some places just have better loss prevention than others. A security officer patrols the parking lot all day, K Mart LP Should have the officers number to alert him of the suspects. From the amount of theft that goes on in that plaza the security is either over-worked and catches a good amount of people that we never hear about and they need to add a second patrol on foot or security is just incompetent. I helped instal 30 security cameras in that K Mart inside and out, there is no reason people should be making it out of there. There is a camera that catches everyone's face as the enter the store and a camera on the door as they exit. The images shown are just from the camera by the beauty supply section (Highest theft area in the store). Where are the other camera images? With that said, the cameras aren't going to do all of the work, LP and Security need to be on the same page.

I remember one time the security guards slammed a would be thief to the ground at FW Woolworth's downtown Providence. It's Woolworth's so you know it was some time ago. Not sure if they can do that but they did.

You can probably find the one in red at fast food restaurants and buying products high in sugar... Just a guess.
