Cranston a Backdrop in 'Violent' Alien Slasher Movie 'Cold Lights'

"Cold Lights," written, produced and directed by Joe Begos, should be completed by the end of the summer.

The director of a low-budget "alien abduction slasher movie" said they sought out a New England setting similar to that of a Stephen King novel. The only gas station in Little Compton, , as well as locations in Coventry and Cranston, set the scene for "Cold Lights."

In a phone interview Wednesday, Joe Begos, director, writer and producer, said they aim to have the movie completed by the end of the summer.

"Earle's fit the bill pretty well," he said of the Meeting House Lane gas station. "We ended up going there and shooting at other locations around Rhode Island."

They hope to have a movie description on The Internet Movie Database, as well as a movie trailer, available soon. Once they finish shooting, Begos said they will head back to Los Angeles to edit and cut the film. They hope to have it finished by the end of the summer.

"It's really violent," Begos added.
