Anthony Sciolto Jr. is very unprofessional and rude to his customers. He treats his customers very condescending. He doesn’t take responsibility for the company’s mistakes and then tells me that I should come and “do it myself” If I can figure out how to attach the letters, notice how polite and professional I was, and then notice how Anthony Sciolto scribbles all over my letter and writes condescending comments. This is not just my word on how he treats his customers, there is written proof. Please look at the attached letters and forward this on to everyone you know.

Thank you.

Here is the back story:

I ordered a vase to be put on my grandmother’s stone in November 2009. A whole vase couldn’t be put on because of the way the stone was. So, they said they could cut the vase in half and glue it on the stone. They said I had to pay for the entire vase even though I was only using half of it, which would be $110 plus tax and $10 labor. I agreed to it.
In December I went to look at the stone & realized that they put the wrong color marble I had asked for and it didn’t even match my grandmother’s stone. I called back & advised them of their mistake & since they were going to have to go out there again, to put the entire vase on (both halves)
I spoke with numerous people before the job finally got done. Tony, the older man who I believe is Anthony Sciolto Sr., was nice & told me to pay the rest of my balance on the original $110 agreement. He said not to pay it until it was completed and I will receive a bill in the mail.
In April 2010, I receive a bill for $191.30. Now, I already put a deposit down of $64.00. That would make the total, $255.30. I called the office, but it was after 5pm and there wasn't a machine to leave a voicemail. This is before their Facebook page came out, of course. So, I wrote a letter stating that Tony said I only had to pay my remaining balance and here is what I should owe.
I receive a VERY rude voicemail from Anthony Sciolto Jr. saying that he was floored when he found out the price as well and he looked into it. He said that the vase they planned on putting on broke 8/10 times the blade cuts it fine, but in this case, it didn’t and they had to cut two vases instead of one. And I was charged for both vases and I had to pay it because he has to pay his guys. He proceeds to give me analogies that 2 half gallons of milk don’t equal a gallon of milk if you go purchase them at the store. He told me that I can come in and do it myself & see what they do. Mind you, this is all dripping with sarcasm. He also photocopied the letter I sent him and scribbled all over it and sent it back to me.
I wrote, once again, another polite, but firm letter. I explained that I was never informed that it was going to cost me double. I understand that their company made a mistake & had to cut two vases, but when was I informed and asked if I still wanted the service? Anthony photocopied my second letter and this time drew question marks all over it. Very professional, right?
This time I called a few minutes before 5pm, and spoke with the receptionist. I was not calm by any means. I told her that Anthony needs to call me immediately and I gave her my cell phone number. I finally get a hold of him and told him that I would like to say a few words first. He talked over me & said in the most sarcastic voice ever, “I am sorry that I couldn’t satisfy you, I wish you well, goodbye.”
It is unfortunate that Anthony Sciolto treats customers this way and that he is representing a family run business. He wrote over my typed letter.. “100 years in business- I never received a letter like this.” That is perhaps because now young Anthony Sciolto is taking over the business. I called the receptionist that I talked to the next day to apologize about how I irate I was with her. She accepted my apology and she said that she gets yelled at everyday by customers. That is how Anthony Sciolto Jr. from A. Sciolto & Son Inc. handles business. I urge you not to use their business. If I can figure out how to post the letters that he drew all over, I will.
