Community Update

Is your child very bothered by certain sensations?

Our research group at the Bradley/Hasbro Children’s Research Center is looking for children 7-12 years old who are bothered by sensory experiences to participate in a study. Common bothersome sensations include, but are not limited to:



· Particular clothing textures or tightness

· Substances that feel sticky, oily, or wet



· Common household, food, or bodily smells

· Loud noises or alarms



· Activities such as hair brushing or showering



The study involves a phone screen with a parent and an in-person assessment with a parent and child for those eligible. Children diagnosed with autism, Asperger’s syndrome or pervasive developmental disorder (PDD) are not eligible for this study. 



Compensation for time and parking will be provided for the in-person assessment.
