Cranston Resident Named New Member of Rev Girls Promotional Team at Providence Auditions

The New England Revolution added three new members, including Jamie McIntyre of Cranston, to its 2014 “Rev Girl” squad Thursday night as the team hosted its final auditions at Ri Ra Irish Pub in Providence.

The Rev Girls are the official promotional team for the New England Revolution, representing the Revs at various events during the season, including home games, community and charity events, scheduled meetings and photo shoots and other promotional events.

A group of celebrity judges – including Rhode Show host Will Gilbert, 92 PRO-FM’s Jessica Schiano, lifestyle journalist Jenna Pelletier and 2013 Miss Rhode Island of the Miss America Organization Jessica Marfeo – helped select the new Rev Girls based on three competition rounds.

Former American Idol “Top Ten” finalist Erika Van Pelt, who emceed the event, quizzed the initial group of contestants on Revolution team trivia during the first round. Next was the “crowd interaction” segment, where the girls showed off their ability to pump up the crowd by handing out Revs gear. Rounding out the third segment of the competition was a “Get to Know the Girls” Q&A, where Rev Girl hopefuls introduced themselves and answered fun and creative questions to show off their personalities.

The Boston edition of the Rev Girl Finals will be held February 19 at the Greatest Bar from 9:00-11:00 p.m., where three additional girls will be chosen to round out the final 2014 Rev Girl squad.

The New England Revolution opens its 2014 home MLS campaign on March 22rd at Gillette Stadium versus the Houston Dynamo.
