50 Cents for Every Cup of Iced Coffee Sold at Participating Dunkin’ Donuts Restaurants in Rhode Island and Bristol County, MA on May 21st Donated to Hasbro Children’s Hospital

Providence, RI – June 27, 2014 - Dunkin’ Donuts, America’s all day, every day stop for coffee and baked goods, is pleased to announce that this year’s Iced Coffee Day generated $125,580 in funds for Hasbro Children’s Hospital.  All day on May 21st, participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants sold medium sizes of its famous Iced Coffee for 99 cents and donated 50 cents for every cup sold (all sizes) to The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation (DDBRCF) for the benefit of Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

“We are thrilled with the results of this year’s Iced Coffee Day,” said Joe Prazeres, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee and Board member of The DDBRCF. “Thanks to our loyal and generous guests, this annual promotion has generated more than $750,000 for the organization, and we are excited to use these funds to continue to make a positive impact on the hospital and its patients.”

Since the inception of this annual fundraiser in 2010, Dunkin' Donuts franchisees have raised $758,395 to benefit Hasbro Children's Hospital. The funds have resulted in tangible improvements to the facility, including the creation and production of activity books for patients and a new play area in the pediatric ambulatory clinic. The funds from the 2013 program went toward the renovation of the 6th Floor Family Room, which was unveiled in late April, and this year's proceeds will help launch a new neighborhood and family safety program in Rhode Island and Bristol County, Mass.

“Improving the health, safety and well-being of children and families across southeastern New England has been our top priority for the past 20 years,” said Robert B. Klein, M.D., Chief of Pediatrics at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. “We are grateful to Dunkin’ Donuts and The DDBRCF for helping us expand our efforts to reach out directly to children and families right where they live—at home, at school and in their local community. This new program will have measurable benefits on children’s health for decades to come.”

The mission of Dunkin’ Donuts charitable foundation, The DDBRCF is to serve its neighborhoods by taking care of their basic needs— children's health, hunger relief and safety. The DDBRCF brings together a wide network of stakeholders, including franchisees, crew members and employees to serve their local communities.

Dunkin’ Donuts has been at the forefront in developing an innovative process for brewing iced coffee, which has set the standard for the industry. The unique process, called double brewing, uses twice the amount of coffee when making the beverage to achieve consistent flavor and freshness which is never compromised at the expense of serving it cold. The result is a smooth, rich taste sensation—iced coffee that is never bitter or watered down.
