Free Public Lectures to Focus on Climate Change

The URI Graduate School of Oceanography’s Metcalf Institute for Marine & Environmental Reporting will host its Annual Public Lecture Series June 2 through June 6, at the URI Narragansett Bay Campus.  In a year filled with national and international reports on the science and impacts of climate change, the 2014 Metcalf Institute Lecture Series will bring leading journalists, scientists, and policy experts to URI to explore the latest scientific research, actions being taken to address climate change, and the challenges of communicating this sometimes overwhelming topic. The lectures are free and open to the public and will be held in the Coastal Institute, 218 S. Ferry Road. The lectures Monday through Thursday begin at 3:30 p.m., Friday's lecture begins at 11 a.m.  Visit Metcalfinstitute.org for more information.
