Community Rallies Around Family who Lost Boy, 2, in Drowning Accident

It's a difficult time for the family, as they try to come to grips with the fact that Jayce Sherman-Chattelle, 2, is no longer with us after a terrible accident last week in which he fell into the family pool and drowned.

Friends of the Sherman-Chattelle family in Cranston are ready and willing to do anything they can to help and offer support.

It's a difficult time for the family, as they try to come to grips with the fact that their boy, Jayce Sherman-Chattelle, 2, is no longer with us after a terrible accident last week in which he fell into the family pool and drowned.

Now, they're raising money to help them defray some of the funeral costs and to offer a boost when the family needs it most.

Already, a page set up on YouCaring.com has raised more than $7,300 in just a few short days, nearly meeting the $10,000 goal.

Organizer Jessica Laliberte said words can't express what the family is going through to cope with the loss of their son.

"I wish nothing more than for them to grieve and heal without the thought of the financial aspects that any loved one should not have to stress over during a difficult time such as this," Laliberte said.
