Cranston's Zinno Wins $825,000 Poker Prize

Anthony Zinno of Cranston took home $825,099 in prize money after beating Vanessa Selbst at the World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open on Friday.

Zinno, who now has $1.3 million in career earnings, came to the final table as an overlooked player who wasn't expected to win it all.

He came to the final table in third chip-position and played his hands carefully, hanging in until it was just he and Selbst at the table. The final hand went down this way:

Selbst moved all in for $7.75 million with a king of spades and 10 of clubs. Zinno called with an ace of clubs and a six of diamonds. The board came to a queen and nine of clubs, followed by a 7 of spades, five of hearts and four of clubs, giving Zinno the pot and the World Poker Tour title with ace high.

Zinno finished on top among 1,189 entries. It was his first WPT title. He now stands in 19th place in the Player of the Year race with 2,192 points and $935,842 earned so far this year.
