Get ready for some traffic issues on Route 37.
The state Department of Transportation is beginning repairs to steel and concrete on the bridge that carries Route 37 over Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick.
The work will cause extended lane closures on Route 37 East, starting with the right lane. It will be closed between Exit 4B and 5A through early October.
Traffic will be restricted to the two left lanes and vehicles coming onto 37 from Route 95 North Exit 14A will be required to stop before merging with traffic on Route 37. Delays are expected.
Extended closures of the center and left lanes will eventually be needed as the project continues.
