Buddy Guy Returns to Park Theatre

Did you miss Buddy Guy when he came to the Park Theatre earlier this year?

Now's the time to nail down a second-chance to see the living legend. The blues superstar is coming back for a second show at Cranston's historic entertainment mecca.

Guy returns Oct. 4 and will play music from his latest album, "Rhythm and Blues," including an opening-act appearance by a teenage blues prodigy Quinn Sullivan of New Bedford, Mass.

A pioneer of Chicago Blues, Guy has electrified audiences with his high-energy performances and unmistakable sound for nearly 50 years. This past July, Guy released his long-anticipated new album, a two-disc set titled “Rhythm & Blues,” which weaves his classic sound and moving lyrics throughout 21 new recordings.

Throughout his career, Guy has influenced some of the most notable musicians of his generation, including Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. In 2005, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in December 2012, received the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors recognizing his lifetime of contributions to American culture and the performing arts.

Opening for Buddy Guy is Quinn Sullivan. Given his first guitar at the age of 3, Quinn quickly developed skills well beyond his age. By the time he was 6, Sullivan gained national attention after appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and wowing the audience with his rendition of “Twist and Shout.” In 2007, he met his idol, Buddy Guy, during a concert in his hometown and was invited on stage. Shortly after, Guy began to mentor Sullivan, inviting him to join his East Coast Tour as the opening act and asking him to perform on his Grammy-nominated album, “Skin Deep.”

Buddy Guy and Quinn Sullivan will take the stage at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4. Tickets are $45 and $55 and are available by calling the Box Office at (401) 467-7275 or online at www.ParkTheatreRI.com.

The Park Theatre is located at 848 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910. Free parking is available for all shows.
