Container Store Donates $16,000 to Crossroads after Grand Opening

The company promised to donate a portion of its sales on opening weekend to the homeless support and advocacy organization and in the end, a total of $16,000 was donated.

The smash grand opening at the Container Store in Cranston this past weekend resulted in a big check written out for the folks carrying the load in the effort to end homelessness at Crossroads Rhode Island.

The company promised to donate a portion of its sales on opening weekend to the homeless support and advocacy organization and in the end, a total of $16,000 was donated.

"Partnering with Crossroads Rhode Island has been an incredible honor for our company,” said Melissa Reiff, president and chief operating officer for The Container Store.  “They are truly invested in the entire Rhode Island community. We couldn’t have found a better match – and it’s an organization we know that our local customers and employees are passionate about.”

Lines were out the door for the new store opening. And consider 1,300 guests came to a private preview party on a Thursday night before the opening — a sign that when it comes to finding the right market to open a new store, The Container Store has apparently hit the jackpot.
