Container Store Opening just Days Away

Can you contain yourself?

The new Container Store is set to open in Garden City Center in mere days.

Can you contain yourself?

The store is set to open May 17, including a promise that 10 percent of its sales during its grand opening weekend will be donated to Crossroads Rhode Island.

The store is the country's 66th location and first in Rhode Island and lands at 25,000 square feet.

More than 10,000 products will be on hand  and along with an endless and dizzying array of products to help people organize themselves, the store offers personalized help with staffers on hand to guide customers towards specific solutions. Walk in with measurements for a closet or specific space and they'll help design a storage system that will fit snug as a bug and keep your stuff nice and tidy.

The company was born in a small strip mall in Dallas, Texas, in 1978 and claims to have created the storage and organization retail category.

And in that category, they've found ways to innovate and adapt everyday products. Did you know they sell 45 different types of laundry hampers? Or 170 types of hooks and 70 styles of hangers?

Interest for the new store is running high. A preview of the store opening we posted in November generated dozens of comments including one from a professional organizer who said "I am thrilled about this."

"So excited! This is one of my favorite stores!" said Carol Simpson.
