Here we have only one example of why the Park Theater was a great proposal, a great project and an important part of the Ward 2 rejuvenation/revitalization project. As word catches on, the venue of acts, concerts and appearances have grown leaps and bounds; remembering that such events also brings revenue into the city in many forms. And what’s nice too...it’s a respectable venue, small in size and keeping with the respect of our surrounding neighborhood & its families. Rolfe Square has an extreme potential to grow into a small, yet prosperous "center of town". Working together closely with the Cranston Chamber of Commerce, the building owners and the shop/business's...the opportunity for negotiations are endless. My vision for Rolfe Square is to fill every vacant store-front and beautify the "strip", along with bringing the proper recognition back to the Memorial Park that once was.. We can utilize the park as an ending hub, (meeting place), after reintroducing a yearly Veteran's Day Parade, so that we can speak with the men and women of their service experiences and show them the respect they have been deserving of. As I've spoken with countless residents, it has been an absolute thought of all veteran's that I've spoken with, that THEIR sacrifice and service to this country has been nearly forgotten and over looked. Let’s utilize what the park was meant for, let’s make Rolfe Square a quaint meeting place for all our citizens.
