Studio B is Best 'City Chic' Salon in RI Monthly Contest
The salon has barely been open one full year. That didn't stop it from being picked by the editors of Rhode Island Monthly Magazine as "Best City Chic Salon" in its 2012 Best of RI awards.
Studio B in has been open for just over one year.
In a city like Cranston with lots and lots of salons, it's not easy making a name for yourself.
But makes it look easy. And on July 26, owners Kristi and Steve Beaman found out they were named "Best City Chic Salon in Rhode Island" by RI Monthly Magazine.

Every year, the magazine puts out a list of the best businesses in Rhode Island. Its annual "Best of Rhode Island" contest draws on reader nominations to determine the best of the state. But the editors also select businesses — and that's how Studio B came to win Best City Chic Salon.
"It's really an honor, especially because we've been open for just a year," Steve Beaman said on Wednesday. Nearly every chair in the salon was occupied by a customer and the place was humming with the sounds of blow dryers, sinks, customers and stylists chatting away. And then the phone started ringing.

"We're really excited, and and it means a lot that we were an editor's choice," said Kristi Beaman.
Studio B is also in the running for the title of Best Hair Salon in our own 2012 Readers' Choice poll. .
