Winning PowerBall Ticket Sold Locally

There were a number of winning PowerBall tickets in last Saturday's drawing, including a $10,000 winner bought at A T Casali Liquors on Cranston Street.

A total of three winning tickets were sold in Rhode Island.

All of the tickets matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number, for a standard payout of $10,000. However, one of the winners added the Power Play® feature for an extra dollar which increased the prize to $40,000.

The $40,000 winning PowerBall® ticket was purchased at Colbea Enterprises, 2200 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence. One of the $10,000 winning PowerBall® tickets was purchased at A T Casali Liquors, 1776 Cranston St., Cranston.  The other $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket was purchased at Colbea Enterprises, 138 Connell Hwy, Newport.   All the prizes have yet to be claimed.

The $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket from the July 24 drawing has been claimed by Leroy McMahon of East Providence.  He and his wife just celebrated 46 years of marriage.  His wife was so excited she called the Lottery to verify the winning numbers ten times and slept for only three hours the night before.  They plan to pay bills and enjoy the rest with their family.

Wednesday's estimated PowerBall® jackpot has climbed to $235 million.
