Cranston Man Indicted for String of Armed Robberies

Stephen Kelly of Cranston was indicted on three counts of first degree robbery.

The Kent County Grand Jury today handed down a three-count indictment alleging Stephen Kelly of Cranston held up three convenience stores in Warwick at knifepoint three times last May.

According to a release from Attorney General Peter Kilmartin, Kelly, 52, of 569 Park Avenue, allegedly robbed Dan's Convienience Store on Post Road on May 13; Valero Gas Station on Post Road on May 15; and West Shore Market on West Shore Road on May 17.

Warwick police investigated the robberies.

Kelly is being held without bail and will be arraigned in Kent County Superior Court on Aug. 3.
