Parking Ban in Effect, Snow on the Way, Share your Photos!

As the first major snow storm of the season approaches Cranston, city officials have instituted a parking ban beginning at noon Saturday and lasting until noon on Sunday.

The storm is moving up the Carolina Coast and is expected to rapidly intensify as it passes over New England, according to the National Weather Service.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the area with snowfall totals expected to land in the six to eight inch range. Some areas could see upwards of seven to nine inches before the store is over.

The storm warning will be over at 7 a.m. Sunday. Snow will start to fall from 5 p.m. and will last until around 1 a.m., tapering off toward sunrise.
