Possible Thunderstorms Closing In

A band of thunderstorms is heading our way from Massachusetts.The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the area.

A band of thunderstorms is heading towards Rhode Island, bringing the possibility of wind and heavy rain to some parts this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather alert for most of Rhode Island and Central and Southeastern Massachusetts.

"If any storms develop, the main hazards would be strong winds and locally heavy rain," the alert states.

The region has been experiencing relatively hot weather as of late. Today's high is forecasted to be about 91 degrees.

It looks like much cooler and drier air is coming early next week. Tuesday's high is only 81, according to the weather service.
