Rev. Ledoux to be Installed as Pastor at St. Mary's Today

The most Rev. Thomas J. Tobin will preside at the Pastor Installation of Mass today at 11 a.m.

The Most Rev. Thomas J. Tobin, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence, will preside at the Pastor Installation Mass of Rev. William Ledoux on Sunday, June 23 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church,  1525 Cranston Street.

Father Ledoux, a native of Pawtucket, was educated there at Woodlawn Catholic Regional School and St. Raphael Academy.  He studied for the priesthood at St. Vincent House of Formation while attending Rhode Island College and completed those studies at St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland, receiving a master of divinity degree and bachelor degree in sacred theology. 

He was ordained by Bishop Louis E. Gelineau in 1993 in the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul, Providence and assigned as assistant pastor of SS. John & Paul, Coventry.  Five years later he was assigned to St. Matthew Parish, Cranston.  In 2009, Father Ledoux became pastor of St. Mary’s, Pawtucket, where he served for four years.

Founded by Bishop Hickey in 1925, St. Mary’s was established to serve the Catholic community in the western part of Cranston.  Today, there are more than 3,000 parishioners in this faith community.
