Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung, after months of speculation, is expected to finally announce he will run for Governor this morning.
The mayor, who is in the midst of his third term, is expected to make his "major announcement" today at Taco Inc., on Cranston St., at 10 a.m.
Fung will be the second Republican to enter the race, following last month's announcement by Moderate Party Founder Ken Block who declared his intentions to run as a Republican this time around, setting the stage for an interesting primary season.
Fung as reportedly has raised $336,554, according to campaign finance reports.
