Fung First to TV in Governor's Race

Fung is first to the airwaves in the increasingly-heated governor's race in Rhode Island.

Touting his record in Cranston, Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung, also a candidate for Governor of Rhode Island, will launch television ads this week — the first candidate to take to the TV airwaves this election season.

The Fung Campaign ad, entitled “Hire,” begins running today as part of a substantial media buy on local network and cable television stations and makes the case why the voters of Rhode Island should hire Allan Fung as their next governor to turn around Rhode Island, according to a release.

Fung lists his achievements including reforming retiree pensions, moving new employees of two major unions into 401(k)’s, cutting government spending, consolidating services, balancing budgets with no tax increase for three straight years, and the creation of more than one thousand new, private sector jobs in just his first two terms in office, the release stated.

The ad concludes by declaring, “That’s how it’s done! And he’ll do the same for Rhode Island."
