Fung Raises $131,000 in Q1, Ups War Chest to $400,000

The donations come from 1,300 unique donors and 90 percent are from in-state donors, the campaign said in a release.

Cranston Mayor and gubernatorial candidate Allan W. Fung said he raised $131,000 in the first quarter, bringing his total cash on hand to $400,000.

"The broad financial support all across Rhode Island is a testament to the Mayor's hard work, dedication, and leadership in the city of Cranston," said James Donahue, Finance Chairman for the Committee for Allan Fung.  "It is abundantly clear that our message of getting Rhode Islanders back to work, providing a better education for their children, and improving the states crumbling infrastructure is resonating with the residents of Rhode Island. Rhode Islanders believe in the Mayor’s vision and policies and are voting with their checkbooks."

The donations come from 1,300 unique donors and 90 percent are from in-state donors, the campaign said in a release.

"Clearly, the mayor is raising his money from Main Street, not Wall Street," Donahue said.

Fung is participating in the matching funds program, which means the campaign is more than halfway to the state's $1.12 million match for the general election.

Great job Mayor. Lots of donors means lots of support, unlike every one else writing big time checks to themselves. Did you see Clay Pell just wrote his own campaign a check for over $1,000,000.......it's outrageous!! Keep up the good work on the campaign trail. you have my support.

Mayor Fung is doing a great job getting around the state and making himself accessible to all the voters!
