Future Senator, Governor?

Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung met with other Republican leaders in New Hampshire last week.

Cranston Mayor Allan W. Fung was at the Northeast Republican Leadership Conference in Nashua, N.H., last week and his campaign snapped this photo along the way.

At left, Scott Brown is all smiles as he poses with Fung, who is running for governor in Rhode Island.

Brown announced that he will be forming an exploratory committee to see if he will run for the senate in New Hampshire.

Fung attended for several reasons. In a letter to fellow Republicans in Rhode Island, Fung said he was there for "grassroots training that will be helpful for anyone who is running for office or will be working with our local candidates here in Rhode Island," Fung said.

Fung was recently named to the Republican National Committee's Asian Pacific American Advisory Council.

"I am grateful to Chairman Reince Preibus for establishing these outreach programs and for allowing me to help shape the future of the Republican Party. It is critical that we go into this election year armed with the skills, information, and energy needed to win elections. Our outreach efforts must include voters from every walk of life and I am anxious to share my insights on these topics with fellow Republicans from throughout the region at the Northeast leadership Conference," Fung said.
