Hear GOP Gubernatorial Candidates Fung, Block, Spar in Debate

Republican Gubernatorial candidates Ken Block and Allan W. Fung faced off in a live debate on Rhode Island Public Radio Tuesday night, answering questions from a panel of moderators — and each other.

One of the more memorable moments was when Block told a moderator, when asked if he could name one GOP elected official that he admires, said "I can't think of anyone."

Fung, meanwhile, defended his record in handling the so-called ticketgate scandal in Cranston that led to him calling for the State Police to take over the police department and conduct a forensic investigation of a series of ongoing personnel squabbles.

"And we moved on," Fung said.

Both men were on the same page on a variety of issues, though, such as cutting government waste, encouraging private development of vacant and empty properties across the state and reducing government regulation.

The debate is broken up into three 18-minute segments.
