Counter-Productions Theatre Company Presents "Nico Was a Fashion Model"

The date is October 15, 2006. Legendary music club, CBGB, is
scheduled to close after thirty years. Punk goddess Patti Smith will perform a farewell concert, and Levittown teenagers Jesse and Luis are determined to be there. After a botched attempt at securing fake ID's, they begin to lose hope. When they meet Christa, another local teen who has the right connections, it seems their prayers are answered. Or are they?

"Nico Was a Fashion Model" is an intimate discussion of racial

identity in a "post-racial" America, viewed through the lens of the

punk music scene. Written by New York City playwright J. Julian Christopher, the play explores the nature of conformity and what it really means to fit in.

Counter-Productions Theatre Company will present the world premiere of "Nico Was a Fashion Model" at the 95 Empire Black Box Theatre in
Providence, RI. Directed by Ted Clement, the play features Paige Barry, Michael Flowers, and Ronald Lewis. Show dates and times are November 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23 at 8:00pm and November 17, 24 at 7:00pm. Admission $16. For tickets and further information, visit www.cptcri.com.
