Big Turnout at Park View's First-Ever Veterans Day 5K

The 5K benefits the Wounded Warrior Project

It was a large turnout on a sunny and crisp Veterans Day for the Park View Middle School's inaugural Veterans Day 5K to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

Superintendent Judith Lundsten said on Twitter that turnout for the event was "more than 500 strong!"

Principal Mike Crudale told the school during an assembly in October said it's a "huge event," both "as a fundraiser and as a service project," according to the Cranston Herald.

The 5K started at 9 a.m. at Roger Williams Park, right near the school, at 1000 Elmwood Ave.

More info about the race can be found here: http://cpsed.net/pview/assets/5K-reg13.pdf

Race organizers hope the event will become a citywide tradition in the years to come.
