Cranston Man Starts Campaign to Save His Home

Cranston Resident Mike Densmore had back surgery and while he was out of work, he and his family have fallen on hard times.

So he's turned to the internet for help, creating a page at www.gofundme.com to raise money to avoid being evicted.

"If We cant pay my rent by the 23 of December they will evict us," he said.

Densmore said he had back surgery and is grateful his employer paid his medical insurance but he has fallen behind on his bills.

Additionally, he said his employer is going to fire him because he can't take the exam to be a registered respiratory therapist. He can't afford to take the exam, he said, because they're so behind on their bills.

"All We have wanted is the American dream and because of surgery and not being able to afford to take the exams before a deadline We will lose our apartment and everything We have worked for. That is why We went to college was to get a better life and We love what I do but this year has been extremely hard," he said.
