What's Open/Closed in Cranston on Christmas

Whether you're heading out or staying in for Christmas, you may need to make an emergency trip into town. 

We've compiled a list of businesses and offices in town and their holiday store hours. If you know of more businesses that are open or closed, help out your fellow neighbors by leaving them in the comments

Town Offices:

  • Cranston Public Schools are closed from Dec. 23 - Jan. 1 and will re-open on Thursday, Jan. 2.
  • Cranston City Hall will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas.
  • All branches of the Cranston Public Library will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas.
  • Cranston Department of Public Works will be closed on Christmas (Trash collection will be on a one-day delayed schedule for Tuesday-Friday pickup.)
  • Cranston Post Offices will close at noon on Christmas Eve and remain closed through Christmas Day. 
  • Cranston Police records will be closed Christmas Eve and Day.
  • The Cranston Fire Department will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for clerical and records purposes.

Retail Stores/Pharmacies:

Walmart - Closes at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day.

CVS - will continue to be open 24 hours every day.

Walgreens - Store will be open from 7 a.m. - midnight on Christmas Eve and 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Christmas.

Rite Aid - Open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve, closed on Christmas.

Grocery Stores:

Stop & Shop - Closed Christmas, Open 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. Christmas Eve

Banks:

Closed on Christmas - call your local branch for Christmas Eve hours
