Obituary: Amelia "Lee" (Garzone) Marandola, 93

Amelia "Lee" (Garzone) Marandola, 93, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at home. She was the beloved wife of sixty-seven years to Benjamin Marandola. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Josephine (DiPrata) Garzone. Amelia along with her husband, were the owners of the former Ideal Rack Company of Providence for forty years before retiring in 1999. She was a volunteer for many years at Martin Luther King Elementary School in Providence.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her three loving daughters, Joanne Pasquazzi and her husband Rick of Narragansett, Marilyn M. Buchanan and her husband John of Cranston, and Leanne DeCosta and her fiancé Bruce Ahern of Cranston. Amelia was the cherished grandmother of Heather DiBiasio, Amanda Gentile, Erica Killian, Tara DeCosta, and Rob DeCosta, and the great-grandmother of Andrew, Sofia, and Amelia. She was the sister of the late Mary Laurenzo, Gloria Anagnastopulos, Salvatore, Louis and Anthony Garzone. 

Funeral from the NARDOLILO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, VISITING HOURS Sunday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, VNA of Care New England, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886.
