Obituary: Anthony Joseph Votta Sr., 92

Anthony Joseph Votta Sr., 92, passed away Sunday January 19, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the cherished husband of Evelyn Ann (Spinelli) Votta. Born in Providence a son of the late Antonio J. and Angelina (Ricci) Votta.

As a young man, Mr. Votta was a Big Band Musician and played all over the world. He was a buyer/merchandise man for the former Outlet Company, Providence for 40 years, and was a WWII Navy Veteran serving on the aircraft carrier Ticonderoga.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his beloved children; one son; Anthony J. Votta, Jr. and his wife Amy, and beloved daughter; Marianne Votta and three grandchildren, Anthony, Courtney and Michael. He was the brother of the late Nicholas Votta, Dr. Paul Votta, Louis Votta and Maria Votta.

His funeral is Friday at 8:45 a.m. from "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church 9 Garden Court, Cranston, 02920. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. CALLING HOURS Thursday 6-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Church.
