Carlo J. Izzo, 89, of Plainfield Pike, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 9, 2012.

Carlo J. Izzo, 89, of Plainfield Pike, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 9, 2012.

Carlo was born in Johnston where he maintained a lifelong resident. He was the husband of predeceased Mary ( Troia ) Izzo and son of predeceased Vincenzo and Teresa (Scuncio) Izzo. 

Carlo was the owner and operator of Izzo Bros. Farms in Johnston, where he worked along with his family for over 60 years. He began as a vegetable farmer then in later years raised flowers, becoming especially known for his beautiful impatiens.

He will always be remembered for his gentle, giving nature and his ability to always find good in people.

Carlo was the loving father of Carlo “ Bucky” Izzo of Johnston, Ann Marie and Hank Suffoletto of West Warwick and Joanne and Michael Macera of Arizona.

He was the proud grandfather of Joanna Ambrosio, Jerome Vinagro, Jason and Corey Suffoletto and Carlo Izzo Jr; great grandfather of Jacob Suffoletto, Aubrie Suffoletto and Grace Vinagro. He was a friend and father figure to Harry Rose. Carlo is survived by his sisters Rose Crudale of Cranston, and Dolores Pagano of Johnston, and a brother Vincent Izzo of Johnston; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers Rocco and Ralph Izzo and his sisters Filomena Ricci and Theresa Izzo. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston at 10am.VISITING HOURS Wednesday 5-8pm. Interment will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
