Obituary: Carmella (Ricci) Zanni

Carmella (Ricci) Zanni, 90, of Cranston, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Carmella (Ricci) Zanni, 90, of Cranston, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Zanni. Carmella was born in Providence a daughter of the late Gaetano and Alessandrina (Scartabello) Ricci.

 Mrs. Zanni was a jewelry worker at Coro’s Manufacturing.  She is survived by her loving children, Deborah Zanni-Thatch and husband Kenneth of Cranston, Michele A. Zanni “Mickie Lee Marshall” of Coventry, Former State Representative Michael A. Zanni and wife Linda of Scituate, her cherished grandchildren, Kara Zanni, Shayla Zanni-Thatch, Ginger Grant-Thatch, USN and Kyle Zanni-Thatch, USMC, and was also the sister of the late Etta DiValerio, Marie Ricci, Frank Ricci and Anne Boatner. Carmella was also the “Adopted” mother of Darlene Cory, Carmen Cadotte and was also survived by a special niece, Sandra Wood and a special nephew, Robert Boatner.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston St., Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Monday 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: The Robert Potter League for Animals, 87 Oliphant Lane Middletown, RI 02842 .
