Obituary: Eleftherios Baziotis, 79

Eleftherios "Lefty" Baziotis, 79, of Cranston, passed away peacefully Friday morning March 14, 2014 at home. He was the husband of Irene (Petras) Baziotis, and the late Chrysanthe (Pliakas) Baziotis.

Born in Sikea, Greece, he emigrated to the U.S. in 1954 and lived the American dream. A devout conservative with an unparalleled work ethic, he was co-owner of Kip's Restaurant in Pawtucket for 40 years and owner of a commercial real estate business. He is best known for his love of family and his passion for his heritage and Greek Orthodox faith. He is survived by his three children Anne (Baziotis) Kaloidis and her husband Constantine of Woodbury, CT, Peter Baziotis M.D. and his wife Silvia of Cranston, and Angela (Baziotis) Pontikes and her husband Tom, of Cranston. Papou Lefty was a loving and devoted grandfather and is survived by his cherished grandchildren Vasilios, Chrysanthe, Maria Elenni, Thomas, Matthew, Eleftherios (Teddy), Sophia, and Michael as well as sisters and brothers-in-law Rev. James and Vasiliki Rousakis, Rev. Petros and Christine Kopsahilis all of Tampa, FL, Demetra Hadjitheodoridis of Athens, Greece and his many beloved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his wife Irene's children and grandchildren.

Calling hours were from 3 to 7 pm on Sunday, March 16th, at "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, RI. The Greek Orthodox funeral and burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Endowment Fund.
