Elena M. DiLustro, 100, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Cra-Mar Meadows in Hope, surrounded by her devoted family. Elena was the wife of the late Salvatore DiLustro, for 51 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Benedetto and Elena (Melfi) Lanni.
She is survived by her daughter Christine Giorgi and her husband Dennis of Hope, son-in-law Francis DelSesto of Cranston, and her late daughter Elena A. DelSesto. Mrs. DiLustro was the cherished grandmother of Gianna DeLuca and her husband Daniel, and Chira, Mariesa and Nicholas DelSesto. She was the great-grandmother of Olivia DeLuca and sister of the late Edmund and Louis Lanni, Lena Minicucci, Mary Rotondo, and Yolanda Morelli.
Her funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Church, Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Monday from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
