Obituary: Evelyn (Votta) Saccoccia, 92

Evelyn (Votta) Saccoccia, 92,  of Cranston and Boca Raton, FL, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank A. Saccoccia for 66 years.

 Evelyn was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Raphael and Pasqualina ( Barone) Votta. Evelyn devoted her entire life to her cherished husband and family. She was an exceptional cook and loved preparing meals for her family. Evelyn was a co-founder and President of Mineral Spring Liquor, Inc. in North Providence since 1963. She was a charter member of the Alpine Country Club where she enjoyed many rounds of golf with her family and friends and, in 1984, made a Hole-In-One. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Cranston, and was a member of the St. Mary Feast Society and Ladies Auxiliary. 

She is survived by her loving children, Barbara A. Madden of Warwick, Richard F. Saccoccia and his wife Mary of No. Kingstown, Thomas F. Saccoccia and Nancy Sachuk of Smithfield and John F. Saccoccia and his wife Jayne of Cranston. She was also the cherished grandmother of 10, great grandmother of 10 and dear sister of the late Thomas and Ernest Votta, Margaret Chirichella and Adeline Caracuzzo. 

Her funeral will be held on Monday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mary Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Sunday 4-8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to: Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904
