George P. Houston, 74, of Cranston, passed away on Friday January 4, 2013 at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Providence peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.

George P. Houston, 74, of Cranston, passed away on Friday January 4, 2013 at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Providence peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. He was the beloved husband of the late Gloria Jean (Papi) Houston. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late William J. and Catherine M. (Mulhern) Houston.

George worked for Etco Mfg Company as a tool maker for many years before his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was the dear brother of William J. Houston, Jr. of Florence, Oregon and Catherine M. DeLuca of Johnston and dear friend of Lia Andrikos of Pawtucket.

He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 538 Broadway Providence.

Interment will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.

Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
