Obituary: Grace A. Cullen, 89

Grace A. Cullen (Drinkwater), 89, of Cranston passed away peacefully November 21, 2013 at Philip Hulitar Home & Hospice Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Cullen Sr.

Born in Cranston a lifelong resident of the city a daughter of the late Judge Edward Drinkwater and Anna (Mercurio) Drinkwater. Mrs. Cullen was a sales lady for the former Jordan Marsh Department in Warwick before retiring.

Grace was a former Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Cranston Community Action Program. She was the beloved mother of Edward J. Gomes Esq., and his wife Janice, Michael S. Gomes, John A. Gomes, Jack Cullen, Sandra L. Fetta, Deborah Cullen-Hopkins, Peggy Paulhus, Robyn Lavallee and the late Ronald J. Gomes. and stepmother of the late Gerald Cullen. Loving grandmother of many grandchildren and several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Sister of Edward Drinkwater, Anna Sunness and the late Dolores Mattera.

Her funeral is Monday at 8;45 a.m. from ''WOODLAWN'' Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery. VISITATION SUNDAY 4-7 p.m.
