Obituary: John J. Iannotti Sr.

John J. Iannotti Sr., 79, "Pop Joe" of Cranston passed away Thursday November 15, 2012 at home.

John J. Iannotti Sr., 79, "Pop Joe" of Cranston passed away Thursday November 15, 2012 at home. He was the husband of the late Freda (Smead) Iannotti. Born in Cranston a son of the late Rocco and Carolina (D'Amico) Iannotti. 

Mr. Iannotti was the owner and president of Smithfield Service Station since 1975, he previously owned and operated J & R Texaco in Smithfield from 1960 -1972. He was a Korean War Naval Veteran. His most significant duty assignment was serving at the Photographic Interpretation Center, Naval Receiving Station, Washington, D.C. He received the National Defense Service Ribbon. He was a former member of the UCT.

He was the beloved father of two sons and two daughters; William Iannotti, Rocco Iannotti and his wife Randee and, Donna M. Rampone, all of Cranston and Janice Olivieri and husband Michael of Scituate. Devoted grandfather of Rocco, Nikkii and Vincent Rampone, Andrew and Jameson Iannotti, Tyler and Shawna Iannotti, Ashley and Alyssa Olivieri.

He was the companion of Dolores Antonelli of Cranston. He was the father of the late John J. Iannotti, Jr., and brother of the late Rocco A. Iannotti and Doris Morrocco.

His funeral was Monday at 8:45 a.m. from "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION SUNDAY 3-7 p.m.
