Obituary: Lawrence D. Besette

Lawrence D. Besette, 69, of Cranston passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at home.

He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Elizabeth M. (Cardillo) Bessette. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late George and Lena (Rosner) Bessette. Larry lived a full life always surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was an avid sports fan.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children Donna Flood and her husband Michael of Exeter; Lawrence Bessette and his partner Mary Palumbo of Fall River; James Bessette and his fiancée Kristen Bittner of Coventry; Diane Barone and her husband Anthony of Johnston; Michael Bessette and his wife Joanne of Warwick; Lena Burghardt and her husband Charles of Warwick; and David Bessette and his wife Tina of Scituate.

Lawrence was the cherished grandfather of fourteen and the great-grandfather of one great-granddaughter. He was the brother of Robert Bessette, Irene Santangelo, Claire Rinaldi, Elinor Brown, Helen Lomoureux, and the late George, Samuel, Maurice, Raymond, and Anita O’Donnell. 

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Sunday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O.
