Louis P. Salvati, 83, of Cranston, passed away Sunday December 23, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Barbara M. (Walsh) Salvati.

83, of Cranston, passed away Sunday December 23, 2012.  He was the beloved husband of Barbara M. (Walsh) Salvati.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA he was the son of the late Luigi and Ida (Caprone) Salvati.

He was the loving father of Louis S. Salvati, Kathleen Maurice and her husband David, Linda Monahan and Karen Salvati; grandfather of Peter Quackenbush and his wife Stephanie, Tara Lynch and her husband Kenneth, Ashley and Samantha Salvati; his three beautiful great grandchildren and his best friend, Buddy, a rescue Pitbull; his siblings Lucy Gelfuso, Yolanda Ruggieri and Angelo Salvati.

Lou was an avid sportsman.  He was a local football star and was inducted into the Boston University Football Hall of Fame in 1974.  Despite opportunities to play professional football, Lou decided on his family’s masonary construction business, L. Salvati & Son.  He played hockey and golf and was a former President and member of Alpine Country Club.  He also coached children for CLCF.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10am in St. Ann Church, Cranston. Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to A.D.O.P.T. (Animals Depend On People Too) 999 Pippin Orchard Rd. Cranston, RI 02921.
