Margaret "Peggy" I. (Tortolani) Palombo, 72, of Cranston, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 at RI Hospital in Providence.

Margaret "Peggy" I. (Tortolani) Palombo, 72, of Cranston, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 at RI Hospital in Providence. 

She was the beloved wife for 52 years of Edward R. Palombo.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Mariannia (Dello Iacono) Tortolani.

Peggy was the office manager at Ocean State Job Lot for 15 years before retiring in 1993.  She was a member of Louisquisset Country Club, its Women’s Golf League; and was an avid bowler.

Besides her husband, Peggy was the devoted mother of Rhonda M. Perrotta and her husband Michael of Cranston; loving grandmother of Rachael and Nicholas Perrotta; dear sister of Connie Caputo, Adeline Badessa, Linda Durand and Luigi “Louis” Tortolani, all of Cranston, MaryAnn Caputo of Johnston, Frank Tortolani of Providence and the late Anthony Tortolani; and loving aunt of 14 nieces and nephews.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and listening to their stories.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hill Dr., Cranston at 10 a.m.  Interment will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
