Margherita L. (Buonanno) Puerini, 91, passed into eternal life on January 5, 2014 at Victoria Court in Cranston., RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert J. Puerini.
Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late Americo and Rosalia (DiMascolo) Buonanno. Margherita was a graduate of St. Xavier Academy and St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing where she ranked first in her class and served as class president. She was a lifelong Parishioner and daily communicant at St. Mary’s Church in Cranston. Margherita was also a Eucharistic Minister at RI Hospital for 22 years and a volunteer tutor for primary grade students at St. Mary’s School for 18 years. Her greatest joy was her family and she was dedicated to them. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children Sandra Del Sesto, and her husband Richard; Donna Benedict and her husband, Jim; Stephen Puerini and his wife, Jane; all of Cranston; and Albert Puerini Jr. and his wife, Betsey of Clayville; 13 cherished grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Grace McHugh of Johnston and Gloria Paliotta of Florham Park, New Jersey and sister of the late Anna and Americo Buonanno, Jr.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11am. Final resting services will take place at the chapel in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS THURSDAY MORNING 8-10am.
